Vito Menza joined Sandler Capital in 2006 and has served as the assistant portfolio manager for Sandler's long/short equity strategy since 2010. Mr. Menza is also a general equity research analyst and searches for new equity ideas across multiple sectors, combining fundamental and technical analysis, and pooling information from a number of sources. As assistant portfolio manager, he closely follows the macro environment and assists Andrew Sandler in portfolio construction, position sizing, hedging, and overall risk management. He may also initiate positions and add to existing positions, subject to defined limits.
Prior to joining Sandler Capital, Mr. Menza was an analyst at Goldman Sachs in the Hedge Fund Research Sales Division where he gained experience generating investment ideas for clients. He has an A.B. in Economics and Environmental Studies from Dartmouth College where he was awarded the Nelson A. Rockefeller Prize for excellence in Economics and where he currently guest lectures. He also spent time studying finance and economics at Keble College, Oxford.
